Welcome to 16 Cents a Meal, a community challenge to feed the hungry in Minnesota, starting in Duluth. That’s right – you may not see it, but there are brothers and sisters in our very own neighborhood who don’t get enough to eat. It’s up to you and me to make a difference.
And we can! We’ve been told that the average cost of food per person for one meal is around $.16. Together, we can make that spare change in our pockets really count.
Our shared goal is to eliminate hunger across the entire region, not just at one location. That’s why we created the “Meals Donated” counter. Take a look, you can easily track how many meals citywide have been donated to a specific center, and choose where you want your contribution to go. We want to be sure each center in the city receives the support it needs to continue serving the hungry.
No one should have to go to bed with an empty stomach. Take a moment. Donate what you can. Together, we can make a real difference.
